When you schedule your pet's Same-Day Dental Cleaning & Diagnostic Appointment, you will be able to meet with the veterinarian and staff. Your pet will be examined for any health concerns, and we will perform full bloodwork at the beginning of this appointment to ensure your pet is in good health to undergo anesthesia for his or her dental cleaning. If there are no concerns, your pet will stay with us for approximately 6 hours to complete the dental cleaning and diagnostic portion of the exam. Your pet will be anesthetized, full anesthetic monitoring will be performed--including vitals, ECG, blood pressure, oxygenation, and ventilation--and your pet will be given IV fluids to ensure adequate hydration and blood flow to organs. His or her teeth will be cleaned, polished, and dental x-rays will be obtained. UP TO 1 HOUR OF EXTRACTIONS OF SEVERELY DISEASED TEETH CAN BE PERFORMED AT THIS VISIT AT ADDITIONAL COST (up to an additional $450). At the conclusion of this appointment, our veterinary staff will sit down with you to show you before and after photos, x-rays, and go over any conditions that may require additional treatment. If it is found that your pet requires more than 1 HOUR of extractions, that will be completed at a follow-up visit for oral surgery. If oral surgery is recommended, your pet's dental procedure and associated costs will be determined, and you will be free to schedule the procedure when it is most convenient for you.
